NASHVILLE, TN – Lillian’s Floral Studio, a Nashville bespoke florist and creative studio, opened its brick-and-mortar location today in the heart of Nashville’s Berry Hill neighborhood. The shop is located at 2807 Bransford Avenue, Suite A. The flower shop, which provides unique floral arrangements and exceptionally designed events, was born out of both love and loss by its founder, Rachel Penn. 

Lillian’s Floral Studio was founded to honor Rachel Penn’s daughter, Lillian, who passed away shortly after her birth in June 2020. Rachel found solace and healing by creating again, drawing on years of floral and events experience to create flower arrangements weekly in her daughter’s memory. Rachel built Lillian’s Floral Studio to provide the Nashville community with beautiful, sustainable blooms and to create exceptionally designed events for life’s most important moments. Every year, a portion of the shop’s proceeds will be given to local and national non-profits that provide emotional, mental, and financial support to those who experience pregnancy or infant loss at any stage.

Not all flowers are created equal. Lillian’s Floral Studio is committed to sustainably sourcing flowers from Middle Tennessee farmers who are dedicated to sustainable farming practices. By building relationships with local farmers during the annual growing season from April through May and offsetting the carbon emissions of flowers sourced from other national and international farmers, Lillian’s Floral Studio is committing to investing in both our local community and our environment.

Sustainability is woven into the fabric of Lillian’s Floral Studio, from the sourcing through to the disposal of our products. The shop avoids single-use plastics, floral foam, and other harmful materials in our designs wherever possible and instead leverages chicken wire, floral frogs, and other living mechanisms in its designs. Lillian’s Floral Studio has invested in eco-friendly, biodegradable, and compostable materials for gift wrapping and packaging. The shop also participates in a local, weekly compost program to transform our floral waste into completed compost that is donated back to the community. Retail clients can take advantage of the shop’s vase recycling program, which allows a client to receive a small credit towards a future arrangement with the return of a vase or bowl previously received. Event clients can leverage the shop’s sustainable breakdown and disposal practices to ensure their event flowers are recycled or composted.

Before she began Lillian’s Floral Studio, Rachel Penn spent 10 years in Hong Kong and Singapore managing regional and global clients for Big Tech companies such as LinkedIn and Google. Rachel applied that growth and management lens to the world of creative floral design to help launch Humid House, a globally recognized botanical creative design studio based in Singapore where she headed Event and Business Operations.
