As more Canadians turn to bicycle to combine exercise with recreation, leading e-commerce website, EcoMerchant.ca has unveiled Da Brim, a new sun-blocking accessory for cycling helmets, climbing, and equestrian.

“Since the pandemic broke out, bicycling has remained as a top choice for Canadians, and with being outside more, comes the risk of too much direct sun and sunburn as people get in on the fun of it,” says Wil Tarnasky, founder of EcoMerchant.ca.

The Canada-based web store is waking up the bike helmet market with Da Brim helmet visors, which serve as the ultimate solution for keeping riders cool, comfortable, and UPF50+ protected while still enjoying the fun under the sun.

“This innovative product aims to help riders overcome the sun’s intense rays and beat the summer heat, avoiding days of a painful sunburn that could turn to bigger health issues like skin cancer later on,” says Wil. Furthermore, rainy day rides can be better to with water deflected away from the neck and face.

Customers have flocked to EcoMerchant.ca’s social media platforms to express their appreciation for Da Brim, with many citing their experiences of descending on bumpy trails and down roads, but Da Brim remained stable and affecting their head movement.

The Da Brim Cycling Classic Helmet Visor Brim is the largest model designed to work with traditional bicycle helmets with a notch or indentation at the back of the helmet to nest the Da Brim’s attachment strap and with more rounded helmets.

It helps block glare, requires no modifications to a helmet or sticky adhesives, and is engineered to withstand the wind forces imposed by outdoor activities, up to 50km/h. The product is lightweight and water-resistant. It has a front strap that keeps the brim from coming down and impairing vision and a rear brim height adjustment for use with backpacks and mirrors.

Also among the must-have models include the Da Brim Sporty Cycling helmet visor, a smaller version of Cycling Classic and offers improved performance for faster riders(60km/h) and good 360° UPF50+ sun protection.

At only 3/4″ smaller all the way around the brim than the Classic, the Sporty is an excellent compromise between wind performance and sun protection.

The product is suggested for use by faster riders and those who live in windy areas. Individuals can use the helmet visor with virtually any bicycle helmet to increase the enjoyment of a ride in the cool comfort of shade.

Equestrian, construction helmet visors

Da Brim’s equestrian helmets are also a top choice, offering fantastic sun protection and serves as a fashion statement as well. These helmets are designed to work with equestrian helmets with a built-in visor and helmets with no visor or a removable visor.

Meanwhile, individuals involved in construction work and rope access could also turn to Da Brim’s PRO Tech, which provides added UPF50+ shade for construction and work-at-height helmets. They are abrasion-resistant and withstand the harsh environment of a work-at-height professional. High visibility models also improve site movement safety.

Since its creation in 2018, Wil says EcoMerchant.ca has been offering eco-friendly and health aware products that offer safer daily living alternatives for individuals and families.

“All of our product lines are family-owned businesses, started by entrepreneurs who wanted their families & friends’ lives to be better. We aim to replace dubious products with healthier choices and reduce environmental waste. We look for products that contribute to the community and are either biodegradable, natural, organic, or recyclable,” says Wil.
