Transition to Contemporary Architecture Style, A Necessary Move for Architects and Builders
The Transition from classical to contemporary style architecture, was a necessary move for our business. Almost one hundred percent of the total demand for new construction is leading towards contemporary architecture. The change in style happened quickly in the US and Dubai over the past few years. New York architects, Fort Lauderdale architects, and Dubai architects are making sure to update the portfolio to contemporary style for the best business opportunities and higher fees.
As architects and developers, it was essential that Rex Nichols Architects – RNA – completed the transition in a short period of time. RNA embraced the transition with passion to a contemporary style which also interacts with contemporary art, technology, social behavior and sustainability.
As we searched for builders to build the cutting-edge contemporary design, it was a challenge to locate the right builders who had also made the transition at a timely pace. The quality of RNA buildings is fundamental. We cannot afford to select the contractor who cannot deliver the best quality construction, especially when looking closely at the details of materials, finishes, and construction performance.
Currently, everyone desires “fresh design”, new clean materials, and smart technology especially for mechanical, lighting and door systems. From our experience as architects and developers this is the trend for the future. The focus of society on the use of latest technologies is fine tuning the evolution of contemporary design.
Builders who became famous for their skills in the Mediterranean style began to lose their relevance. The structure is very different in contemporary style projects and often involves post tensioning floor systems and extreme cantilevers not found in classical projects. It is noticeable, the higher level of detailing, therefore an expertise with contemporary style becomes fundamental.
RNA is constantly researching builders in California and Florida who can deliver high-end contemporary luxury homes. Our selection is very well defined in the consideration of the amount of experience that a contractor has building contemporary homes. This is paramount to even being considered for the project team. The greater the number of contemporary projects the greater the consideration.
At the same time, for the real estate market, properties with past architectural styles are not selling nearly as quickly as contemporary styles. It is therefore an economic as well as social and cultural revolution.
