Seoul, Korea – Aeon Studio (CEO Lucia Kang), DoTPlanner (CEO Dohyun Kim, JiYun Kim), and etnah company (CEO Hyungtae Do) are pleased to announce their collaboration in hosting Crypto Art Seoul 2023 (CAS 2023), the first crypto art conference in Korea dedicated to the realms of digital and crypto art. The event will take place in L’espace etnah Godeok, Seoul from September 5 to 7, with a diverse range of exhibitions, speaking sessions, and networking opportunities for artists, creators, collectors, and blockchain enthusiasts.

CAS 2023 is expected to become a major global festival for the crypto art scene, especially as it is the first offline event in Seoul to highlight ‘crypto art’. It has already garnered international attention, with partners such as Superchief Gallery (New York’s first NFT gallery) and Non Fungible Conference (a web-3 conference hosted annually in Lisbon) joining the exhibition and conference. Domestic partners such as Gallery Hyundai, ALTAVA Group, AI Network, and HanDAO will also contribute their expertise.

In May, the event was selected for the Seoul Based International Conference (S-BIC) project, which aims to build Seoul into a leading international event and will be supported by the Seoul Tourism Organization for the next five years.

CAS 2023 will feature the theme “Hardforking Humanity,” and will consist of four programs: a conference, an exhibition, a party, and an art tour.

The conference is expected to celebrate the course of evolution that digital and crypto art has undergone from an art-world perspective and deliver insightful discussions regarding their future. A notable segment of the event is “Undoxxed Firesides,” during which panelists are expected to engage in healthy, heated discussions that challenge pre-existing doubts and paradigms surrounding the crypto art market.

The exhibition, in itself, will be a visual summation of the theme of the conference. By showcasing works of both established and emerging artists in digital and crypto art, so that it may both celebrate and nourish every nook and cranny in this innovative new field. Artists using cutting-edge technologies like AI and 3D will bridge the worlds of crypto culture and cyberpunk, offering new perspectives on art.

“NFT Art based on blockchain is currently driving growth as prestigious art museums such as MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) purchase and exhibit it, and it is expected to continue to record an average annual growth rate of 5% until 2030 as the field is actively expanding in areas such as gaming and fashion,” said Kim JiYun, CEO of DoTPlanner. “Seoul is attracting attention from the global art scene with Frieze, the world’s third largest art fair, entering Seoul and achieving sales of about KRW 1 trillion in 2022. In the crypto scene, Seoul is also gaining attention as a testbed leader and most importantly for its K-Culture.
