Hinkle & Co. Partners with Save Sea Foundation Towards Ocean Preservation
Designer and entrepreneur Marlena Hinkle partners with the non-profit organization Sea Save Foundation as a step towards ocean conservation. Marlena made a name for herself as a Disney sensation in her younger years. As she has always valued nature, she is now taking this opportunity to donate 10% of her profits to the foundation. With a remarkable story herself, the artist draws inspiration from her surroundings to create her stunning artwork.
Today, Marlena sells her pieces exclusively in her Home Collection via the Hinkle & Co. website. Her clothing line has taken on a fresh outlook that has brought her much success. However, things were not always so. Due to unfortunate circumstances, as a teenager, she found herself in trouble with the law. Much like the movie “Freedom Writers”, when Marlena played a stunt double, she faced many challenges as a young adult. But that was not where her story ended. The entire story of her life will be covered in a book penned by the designer herself.
“Literature and art have saved my life, and I wanted to share this journey with others. I am currently in the process of writing a book about how I was able to overcome a lot of challenges as a young adult and how I manage the waves that come with growing up as a creative,” says the protagonist of her own story.
The book is said to be released in the fall of 2023.
Marlena made her way to recovery and eventually success. Her motto “Keep the dream alive” is the brand’s epitome and outlook on life. During her many trips to the beach with her surfer husband of 14 years, they would always pick up the trash along the way. Seeing how much damage the ocean suffers, Marlena decided to partner with Sea Save Foundation and thus HNKL was born.
“Keep the Dream Alive” is our motto. We need to keep this dream alive for ourselves and for others who might be struggling. A beach is a healing place for many people,” says Marlena.
Marlena’s use of colors and unique graphics makes her art attractive, as seen in her identifiable style in the HNKL clothing line. Her merchandise has a stylish and edgy look, making it appealing to surfers and skaters.
Most recently, HNKL released their own line of footwear and it has certainly created a buzz amongst the community.
