Theresa Mancuso is Named “Nurse of the Year” Representing the State of Massachusetts in 2021
For her dedication and excellence in patient care, Patient Preferred Physicians and Practitioners proudly named Theresa Mancuso, “Nurse of the Year” representing the state of Massachusetts in 2021.
With nearly a decade of achievements in her specialty, Mancuso holds expertise in geriatrics, medical/surgical nursing, nursing home care, and rehab nursing. She compassionately serves patients at the Wingate at Harwich in Harwich, MA. Located in a historic town on Cape Cod’s beautiful south shore, Wingate at Harwich meets the short-term rehab, long-term care, memory care and respite care needs of patients and their families — always with attention, understanding, compassion and respect. This 135-bed facility provides a tranquil environment for Wingate’s patient-centered approach to care, promoting healing, recovery and comfort.
Mancuso’s medical journey began as a graduate from Simmons College in Boston with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc), and her BSN/ Registered Nursing Degree (RN) at Simmons University, concurrently. She is a certified Registered Nurse with certification in Basic Life Support.
Working at a rehab/nursing home as a registered nurse, primarily on the short-term rehab unit, Mancuso’s duties include medication administration, wound care, and pain management.
Prior to her position at Wingate at Harwich, Mancuso worked for Seven Hills Pediatric Center, where she worked as a registered nurse on the resident units. Duties there included, medication administration, tracheostomy care, monitoring g-tube and j-tube feedings, monitoring residents for seizure activity, monitoring ventilator dependent residents, and suctioning residents as needed.
To stay abreast of the latest developments in her field, Theresa Mancuso remains a professional member of the Society of Pediatric Nurses. She attributes her professional success to loving what she does and her passion for her field. When she is not working, this compassionate nurse can be found volunteering at local homeless shelters.
