Long Island Doula Launches Be Her Village Baby Registry To Make Motherhood Better
New baby registry platform designed especially for moms to connect them with a support team of local providers and enables their friends and family to fund the services. Be Her Village also helps grow the small businesses that provide these much needed services in their local communities.

Starting today, friends and family will be able to provide support to mothers-to-be with gifts far beyond diapers and wipes. The newly launched Be Her Village platform connects gift buyers with locally vetted and recommended service providers including Doulas, Lactation Consultants, Pelvic Floor Therapists, Prenatal Yoga Teachers, Support Groups, Acupuncture, and more, in order to help families transition into parenthood feeling cared for and empowered.

Kaitlin McGreyes, a doula servicing the tristate area credits her own experience as a mother of three as her inspiration to launch Be Her Village.  “When I came home from the hospital with my firstborn, who was delivered via emergency C-section, I was recovering from major surgery, and embarking on the biggest and most challenging job of my life.  I was taken over by fear and feeling alone, helpless, and surrounded by stuff.  As appreciative as I was for the swings, and swaddles, what I really needed was help. I created Be her Village to make Motherhood better, I want my daughter to have a different experience, I want all Mothers to not only survive their first few weeks at home, but thrive. It really does take a village.”

Be Her Village was not only created to support Mothers but it’s also here to support the local mothercentric businesses that serve them. McGreyes knows firsthand the struggles of maintaining a clientbase for her doula business. She used those insights to design a platform to help motherhood businesses educate and reach potential clients. When support providers sign on to be part of BHV they are provided with a wealth of tools and opportunities to showcase the benefits of their speciality from media interviews, guest blog posts, to social profiles and podcasts. Be Her Village support providers are automatically connected to mothers in their service area, they can set up consultations, answer questions, and ultimately be added to an expectant moms registry so that family and friends can gift them funds to purchase the service. To celebrate the New York launch of Be Her Village, they are hosting a giveaway in partnership with BHV support provider Do Eyed Photography to offer one winner a complimentary maternity or newborn photo shoot. To enter, visit Be Her Village on Instagram.
