Jay R. Kemmerer entered the securities industry in 1984 at the age of 25 as a manager trainee for First Investors, Corp. He founded his first independent firm, Kemmerer & Co. Financial Services in 1992, in which he still serves as President. He later formed Berkshire Advisors Inc., a Pennsylvania based RIA-Registered Investment Advisor in late 2002 and currently serves as Chairman & CEO.
In January 2007 he was named President of the Penn Street Fund and became the master advisors to that fund company. During his portfolio management tenor from 2003-2010, he received numerous performance recognitions in the “Wall Street Journal”, USA Today”, “Barons”, and “Morningstar”.
Throughout his career, he has been committed to the Fiduciary Standard, Financial Independence, Financial Education, and Responsible Investing. He has been advising business owners, non-profits, business retirement plans and individual clients in the areas of wealth management for over 34 years.
