With the Sober-Minded Lifestyle, There’s No Need to Struggle Alone

GROVELAND, IL – Alcohol is a huge part of the culture in the United States, and for many women, it may feel like the only solution to many of life’s problems. While an escape from reality can be healthy from time to time, it can be easy for alcohol to turn into an unhealthy coping mechanism. For women struggling with this issue, Martha Brown has made it her life’s mission to help women in recovery to feel confident in sobriety and in tackling all of life’s stressors.

The Sober-Minded Program is designed to help women everywhere who are struggling to stay sober, especially during these difficult times. For a great value, Martha Brown offers everything a woman will need to maintain a fun, productive, and healthy lifestyle, all while remaining sober.

Coaching programs seem common these days, but what are they, exactly? For Martha Brown, this means giving women individualized attention with their issues, allowing for greater accountability. Ideally, this will help women fast-track their issues, but this goes beyond one-on-one coaching. Her group coaching program offers a safe space for women, especially within her Facebook group, which allows them to share resources, help each other overcome their respective obstacles, and support each other along their journeys. After all, a new lens or a fresh perspective can make all the difference in the world when trying to kick bad habits.

The idea behind the program is to askwomen why they’re reaching for the drink instead of telling them that what they’re doing is wrong. From there, the program offers small, actionable steps to be taken in order to quickly foster the changes they need to make.

For women, alcohol can be marketed as “fun,” especially for mothers, but when they indulge, their character (and ability to parent) tends to be questioned. “There is this stigma that as moms we need to ‘just handle it,’ whatever ‘it’ is, so when women turn to alcohol or other unhealthy coping mechanisms, they are seen as not being able to be the mom, wife, or employee, that society expects them to be,” Martha says. “And when they can’t handle it, they then feel like they are failing.” She believes that this feeling of failure drives many women towards unhealthy coping mechanisms like drinking, and in their push to work through their feelings, they forget to take care of themselves.

Martha struggled with these issues in the past, and the methods she uses to help others are the same proven methods she uses for herself. In a world where alcohol is marketed as the #1 go-to for social interaction and surviving the daily grind, she found ways to thrive and maintain a healthy lifestyle without it, and she wants to help women everywhere do the same.

This doesn’t just apply to recovering alcoholics, either. In fact, a sizable number of people who binge drink are not considered alcoholics. Despite this, it’s easy to fall into an unhealthy drinking habit, and for women who feel like they’re teetering on the edge of a serious dependence problem, this program is for them, too.

For any woman looking to redefine her relationship with alcohol, Martha’s Sober-Minded  Program can be found on her website. Martha can also be reached by phone at (815)-310-5178, or via email at [email protected]. Remember—there’s always hope.
