Amphitheater Public School District Continues to Offer Meals Throughout Summer to Children

The Amphitheater Public School District will continue to offer free meals to children through its summer meal program. The program offers breakfast and lunch to students in the community with no questions asked. No registration or identification is required. Sudents under 18 just need to show up to a participating school to obtain a meal.

Meals will be offered at sites throughout the Amphitheater District. The goal is provide consistent access to nutrition and  to reduce food insecurity, or the fear of not knowing the next time they will get a meal.

In the United States, roughly 1 in 5 kids live in households that cannot provide adequate food. Kids facing hunger can often experience negative side effects on their behavior and learning abilities. Hunger can lead to toxic stress, malnutrition, and reduced ability to focus in school.

Amphitheater Public School District will continue to offer free meals through the summer break to combat child hunger and help their students be as successful as they can. The District is always striving to help their students meet their goals and support one another, It’s the AMPHI way.
