Hily Dating App asked 3000 of its single users from the U.S. if they feel pressure with Valentine’s Day coming.

With all those heart-shaped balloons and cards or couples showing their affection in public, it may be hard not to give in to your own love chase. Hily dating app wanted to support singles who deal with the same feelings before Valentine’s day and show that they are not alone.

That’s why the app asked single Americans how they feel before the most romantic day of the year. 3000 men and women in their 20’s and early 30’s shared their thoughts on Valentine’s Day craze.

42% of women and 47% of men struggled to find a date before Valentine’s Day just because they didn’t want to be alone. It’s not an easy job to get a compatible date right on schedule. So, only 6% of female users and 8% of male users have actually succeeded in it.

All the pressure doesn’t make it easier. With Valentine’s Day approaching, 38% of men and 36% of women feel like they NEED to find a date. One-third of those people report they feel extremely pressured into doing it.

The great news is, that most of the singles do believe in happy endings. 81% of men and 76% of women think they can build a serious relationship with someone who were supposed to be their one-time Valentine’s date.

So, people do hope that someone they saw as a Valentine’s Day fling might become a partner of their dreams.

About Hily

Hily is an acronym for “Hey, I like you”. The app identifies the users who have the biggest matching probability by analyzing a number of factors: profile, in-app activity, likes and dislikes. The more swipes users make, the more the algorithm learns about their likes and dislikes.

Hily’s CEO Alex Pasykov also founded Taimi, the first LGBTQ+ Dating App and Social Network.
